One of the estate’s defining wines, this comes from a 40-year-old parcel of Chardonnay in the cool, due-east-facing Perrière vineyard planted between 300 and 340 meters of altitude in very poor soils of notable limestone content. Bracing, chiseled, and lithe, it is a wine of foregrounded minerality and minimal flesh, offering a cool, crystalline personality wholly absent the rich golden tones of Chardonnay from warmer sites.
