About Bois de Boursan
The Bois de Boursan, founded in 1955 by Jean Versino (Jean-Paul’s father), is a ten-hectare domaine with the entirety of its vineyards situated within the confines of the village of Chateauneuf-du-Pape.
Made of 100% Clairette from 30-year-old vines planted in a clay-limestone parcel in the town of Jonquières, the “Petit Oursan” Blanc is a multi-vintage blend (typically 50% from the most recent harvest and 50% from the prior harvest) raised entirely in enameled cuve. Clean, gently floral, and taut but mouthfilling, it shows subtle notes of fresh almonds and fennel; it also completely avoids the confected, fake-yeasted feel that so many wines at this ultra-modest price point suffer from.
